bernard-rose-bio-2Bernard Rose is an acclaimed writer/director who has made a great breadth of films across genres, from the controversial but critically acclaimed IVANSXTC, to the Beethoven biopic IMMORTAL BELOVED to horror classics CANDYMAN and PAPERHOUSE to THE KREUTZER SONATA starring Danny Huston. Bernard wrote and directed MR NICE, based on the biography of infamous British drug dealer Howard Marks and starring Rhys Ifans and Chloё Sevigny. The third film in the Tolstoy series BOXING DAY premiered in 2012 at Venice and the fourth, 2 JACKS, premiered the same year in the US, starring Danny and Jack Huston and Sienna Miller.

Bernard’s contemporary FRANKENSTEIN adaptation, for Summerstorm and Millenium, starring Xavier Samuel, Danny Huston and Carrie-Anne Moss and Tony Todd, won the GOLDEN RAVEN (the Grand Prix) at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival April 2015 and garnered terrific reviews when it screened at London’s Fright Fest. The American Cinematheque in Los Angeles also held a retrospective of Bernard’s work in August 2015. Bernard is currently developing more original Horror subjects – radical versions of nineteenth century texts, with producer Gabriela Bacher/Summerstorm.
